Can we really get too many shoes? I’m intrigued by fascinating footwear, especially fascinating spring footwear that I’m seeing on various media. Although I reported earlier that kitten heels and lower heels are making a comeback, it seems that trends are all over the board this season.
There are high heels, booties, flats, and sandals, in watercolors, reptile and color blocks, prints and neons. Everything imaginable is being shown. I mean, I have some reptile print heels from several years ago that are right in style today. And talk about neon shoes? Yep. I’ve got some peep toes in hot pink that I’m dragging out!
Here are a few trends you will be seeing worldwide in the spring/summer collection:
Aquatalia introduces these reptile wedge platforms from Italy, by Marvin K. The thing I like most about at least a small platform, is the cushion it provides between the pavement and my foot. Nice. They also lower the arch so that I don’t feel as if I’m being thrown forward all the time!
Next we have watercolor color shoes such as seen in these beauties. They are so pretty. I can think of a million things to wear them with!
I saw a vibrant blue heel today on Gayle King of www.cbsnews.com/cbsthismorning. Wow. It matched her dress perfectly; not that matchy-matchy is needed anymore, but it was just cool. These shoes emit an almost metal-flake look. They are shiny and glitzy but still do-able for day wear.
And then there are the “prints”. Oh and don’t forget mesh and perforated shoes. Although these are strictly novelty shoes, like the watercolor and prints, if chosen correctly one could wear them with nice bright solids. Tip: when wearing these, be aware that it might be difficult to get your viewer’s eyes to move up to your “Personality Zone” to take in all that you are saying. They can be prettily distracting.
So much for fascinating spring footwear. What are you going to be showin’ this spring/summer?!
